Contest Rules
Last updated: May 22, 2026
tdb.bet is a skill-based pari-mutuel setlist prediction contest for fans of The Disco Biscuits. These Rules describe exactly how scoring and prize-pool distribution work.
How to enter
- Sign up at tdb.bet/signup with a valid email.
- For each upcoming show, you may either:
- Submit a casual entry (free, off-leaderboard, for fun), or
- Submit a competitive entry by purchasing a Tour Pass (covers every show on a tour) or an individual Show Entry. Entry fees are shown on the buy page.
- Entries are submitted as ten (10) ranked song picks, plus optional bonus modifiers. Picks may be revised any number of times before the show's pick-lock time.
Scoring
After the show, the official setlist is read from the Biscuits Internet Project. For each of your ten picks:
- Base points: Pick 1 is worth 10 points if that song appears anywhere in the setlist. Pick 2 is worth 9, Pick 3 is worth 8, … Pick 10 is worth 1.
- If the song wasn't played, the pick scores zero (and no modifier or multiplier can apply).
Bonus modifiers (optional; one per type, attached to any one pick)
- Opener (+5): if the pick is the show opener (first song of Set 1), add 5 to its base score.
- Set 1 wildcard (+3): if the pick lands in Set 1, add 3.
- Set 2 wildcard (+3): if the pick lands in Set 2, add 3.
- Modifiers that don't hit cost nothing. They can only add points, never subtract.
Bustout multipliers
Songs the band hasn't played in a while are worth more. The multiplier is applied to (base + modifier bonus):
| Shows since last played (gap) | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| 0–9 | 1.0× |
| 10–24 | 1.5× |
| 25–49 | 2.0× |
| 50–99 | 3.0× |
| 100–199 | 5.0× |
| 200–999 | 10.0× |
| 1000+ (or never played) | 20.0× |
Prizes (competitive entries only)
- Prize pool: For each show, 50% of the entry-fee pot from competitive entrants forms the prize pool. The remaining 50% is retained by tdb.bet to cover Stripe fees and operating costs.
- Distribution: The highest-scoring competitive entry takes 100% of the prize pool for that show. In the event of a tie at the top, the prize is split equally among tied entrants.
- Tour Pass winners: If you purchased a Tour Pass (covers a whole tour), your competitive score for each show in that tour is automatically added to the leaderboard. Each show pays out independently; the Tour Pass does not entitle you to a tour-aggregate prize unless we explicitly announce one for that tour.
- Payout: Prizes are paid via Stripe within 14 days of the show's setlist being finalized. For US payouts ≥ $600 in a calendar year, US tax reporting (Form 1099-MISC) applies and we will require additional information before payout.
Tiebreakers
- Highest aggregate score wins.
- If still tied: fewer modifiers used (more "pure" pick wins).
- If still tied: prize is split equally among tied entrants.
Disqualification
The following void any competitive entry without refund:
- Multi-accounting (more than one account per person).
- Submitting picks via automated tools, bots, or scripts.
- Attempting to gain advance access to the setlist (e.g. paying a venue employee, intercepting setlist data before public release, etc.).
- Filing fraudulent chargebacks.
Rule changes
We may update these Rules between tours. Changes take effect for shows whose entry windows have not yet opened. Once a show's entry window is open, its scoring rules and prize structure are locked.
Final authority
For each show, tdb.bet's scoring determination is final. Disputes are resolved per the Terms of Service.
